Bucharest- The commissioner of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission counsellor Dr. Ahmad Barak has signed a memorandum of understanding with the chief of Romanian National Anti-Corruption Directorate Mr. Nistor Calin.
The agreement was signed during a meeting of the two parties in the Romanian National Anti-Corruption Directorate with the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador in Romania Fuad Kokaly, the Embassy Counsellor Dr. Asim al-Kurdi, the head of the International Relations Department at the Romanian National Anti-Corruption Directorate Mr. Costin Ferlan, and Specialized Judicial Police Officer in Implementing the International Cooperative Programs Ms. Iwana Kandria.
Counsellor Dr. Barak informed his Romanian counterpart on the work of PACC, its structure, mechanism, and jurisdictions, emphasizing on the independency of the commission that conduct its work in conformity with anti-corruption law in Palestine. Moreover, Dr. Barak indicated the commission’s interest in cooperating with various international institutions relating to anti-corruption in order to exchange expertise and benefit from other experiences in the field.
On his part, Mr. Calin affirmed on the support of the Romanian Directorate for PACC, indicating to his willingness to provide the PACC with experts in the field of anti-corruption with the aim of qualifying the Palestinian staff and developing their capacity.
